World Series of Poker 2011 dates confirmed

U.S. land-based gaming giant Caesars Entertainment Corporation has announced the dates for the 2011 annual World Series of Poker tournament series.

Las Vegas-based Caesars revealed that that the 42nd edition of its World Series of Poker will start on May 31 following the Memorial Day holiday in America and run over the next 50 days until July 19.

The 2011 series is open to anyone over the age of 21 and, as has been the norm since 2005, will continue to be held at the Convention Center of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The main event of the World Series of Poker 2011 is scheduled to start on July 7 and, once again, feature four starting days until July 10. This will be the final tournament of the annual series with its conclusion slated for July 19 after reaching a final table of nine players.

“Hard stop times will become a definitive change in 2011 for all bracelet events,” declared a statement from Caesars.

“Players will play a maximum of ten levels per day. Once ten levels have been completed, remaining players will have their chips bagged and tagged and return the next day to continue on in the tournament. Regardless of how many players remain in a tournament, hard stop times will be enforced after ten levels of play.

“The entire schedule for the 42nd annual World Series of Poker with individual tournaments, dates, times and buy-ins will be published in January.”
