Most online poker rooms offer a wide range of online texas holdem tournaments for their players to enjoy. Most online poker offer lots of different tournaments with buy-ins and structures created to fit the needs of the different player types!
Freerolls
A freeroll is a free tournament that gives you the chance to participate for free and win money without investing your own money.
Multitable Tournaments
These are tournaments with lots of players and a large prize pool. The tournaments are scheduled and have minimum and maximum numbers of players allowed, and players can register to play until the start of the tournament. All players begin with the same number of chips; if you lose all your chips, you will be knocked out of the tournament.
The buy-in for the tournaments, which is the price it costs to play, is typically displayed with the amount that goes to the prize pool and the fee that goes to the house. For example: if a tournament costs $5+0.50, $5 will go to the prize pool while $0.50 will go to the house as a fee.
Sit and Go Tournaments
Sit and Go tournaments work exactly like they sound. You sit down at a table of your choice and wait for all seats to be taken. The tournament doesn’t have a scheduled starting time, but starts automatically once all seats are taken.
All players begin with the same number of chips; if you lose all your chips, you will be knocked out of the Sit and Go. We have both multitable and single-table Sit and Gos.
Satellites
If you want to play in a larger tournament, like a live tournament or a guaranteed tournament, but don’t feel like you can afford it, most online poker rooms offer a large and diversified selection of satellites. These tournaments normally have a guaranteed number of seats to the larger tournament and sometimes the number of seats depends on how lots of players play. For example, if a tournament costs $50 and we are running a satellite for that tournament, the buy-in will be $5 and for every 10 players who play in the satellite, one player will get a seat to the $50 tournament. We have both Sit and Go satellites, which run when all seats are taken, and multitable satellites, which have a scheduled start time.
