Full Tilt Poker Signs Annette Obrestad

Full Tilt Poker, the world’s leading online poker site, has signed online poker phenomenon Annette Obrestad to its roster of professional players.

Better known by her online poker handle “Annette_15″, Obrestad is one of the most prolific and successful players in the history of online poker. She is also a flourishing star on the live scene, having won more than $3 million playing tournaments around the globe.

Starting out with nothing, Obrestad turned a $9 win in a Freeroll tournament into a bankroll worth millions. Known for her fiercely aggressive style and fearless bluffs, she is considered one of the top poker tournament players in the world.

Although she has routinely made five and six figure scores in some of online poker’s biggest tournaments, Obrestad is perhaps best known for her play in a $4 online tournament. Wanting to truly test her skills at the table, she challenged herself by playing blind. With the exception of one hand where she was all in, she did not look at her hole cards for the entire tournament – and she won.

While many online players struggle when they first take on live poker, Obrestad’s transition was seamless. In just her fourth live event, she won the 2007 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, becoming the youngest bracelet winner in history and collecting more than $2 million – the largest prize ever won by a female player.

With strong outings at several European Poker Tour stops, a final table appearance at the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event and a 9th place finish at the 2010 Heads-Up Poker Championship, Obrestad continues to be a force at the table anytime she plays. She will be in Las Vegas this summer for the 2010 World Series of Poker*, looking to dominate the action at her first WSOP* on American soil.

Players at Full Tilt Poker will have the chance to chat and play with Obrestad at 18:00 ET on Sunday, May 2nd when she hosts the FTOPS XVI Main Event, a $640 No-Limit Texas Hold‘em tournament.
